The abduction had occurred about four weeks prior to LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School, Kuriga.

The Defence Headquarters corroborated the rescue operation, announcing on Saturday that a total of 137 students were safely recovered.

Regrettably, Governor Sani disclosed that one of the teachers who was kidnapped alongside the pupils passed away due to complications arising during captivity.

He extended condolences to the family of the deceased teacher and offered solace to the families of the released schoolchildren.
