Two Monarchs Killed by Suspected Terrorists in Ekiti

Two traditional rulers were killed by gunmen suspected to be Terrorists on Monday, in a violent attack that occurred between Oke-Ako and Ipao-Ekiti in Ajoni Local Government Area of the state.

The victims were identified as Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area and Elesun of Esun Ekiti in Ajoni, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State. They were returning from a meeting when they were ambushed by the assailants.

A source told Oodua News that another monarch, Alara of Ara in Ikole LG, narrowly escaped the attack, as the gunmen tried to abduct them.

“They were travelling together. The armed herdsmen stopped them and rained bullets on them. They took their personal belongings and dragged their bodies into the bush,” the source said.
