The bloodiest incident included unknown assailants targeting a security patrol in the community of Coyuca de Benitez in the state of Guerrero.
At least 13 people were killed in the incident; 11 of them were municipal police officers. When the convoy was ambushed, a senior state security official was also traveling with it.

The brother of the Tacambaro town mayor was the target of the gunmen.
In the third attack, two people were wounded and at least six people died in a shootout between suspected drug dealers in the state of Puebla in central Mexico.
About 120 kilometres outside Mexico City, in the remote village of San Miguel Canoa, was where this tragedy took place.
These assaults highlight the persistent violence that has afflicted areas where drug trafficking is present.
Since the government began using the armed forces in the war on drugs in 2006, there have been over 420,000 recorded murders and over 110,000 reported disappearances. Due to conflicts between rival drug traffickers and security personnel, the states of Guerrero and Michoacan rank among the most dangerous in the nation.
