In a shocking incident at the headquarters of the village council of Keretsky in Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region, a village councillor set off hand grenades during a meeting, leaving 26 people wounded.
The unsettling event unfolded on Friday morning, as captured in a video released by the national police on Telegram.
The footage depicts a man, dressed in black, entering the council meeting during a heated discussion. He pulled three hand grenades from his pockets, removed the safety pins, and dropped them on the floor. The resulting explosions sent shockwaves through the room, eliciting screams from those in attendance.
“As a result, 26 people were wounded, six of whom are in grave condition,” the police statement revealed, adding that medics were trying to resuscitate the man who threw the grenades.
Promptly responding to the incident, Ukraine’s Secret Service (SBU) initiated a terrorism investigation, while the national police launched a probe into the illegal handling of weapons.

The committee had been live streaming its discussion on social media, capturing the perpetrator’s entrance more than 1.5 hours into the debate.
The chaotic scene inside the small room, shrouded in darkness and smoke, unfolded as injured individuals lay on the floor.
