Properties Worth N273m Destroyed in 2023 —Zamfara Fire Service

The Zamfara State Fire Service has reported that fire incidents in 2023 led to the destruction of properties amounting to N273,335,230 between January to December in the state.

Alhaji Abdullahi Jibo Dauran, the Executive Director of the State Fire Service, conveyed this information to journalists in Gusau, the state capital, noting that these incidents occurred at various times throughout the year.

In the same period, they managed to save properties worth 842,933,340, although the toll included 75 injuries, 80 fatalities, and a total of 75 fire calls.

Dauran elaborated on the causes of the fire outbreaks in Gusau metropolis, citing reasons such as power surges and incidents involving gas cookers. He advised residents of the state to turn off all electrical appliances before sleeping or leaving their homes and offices to prevent such incidents.

Additionally, he highlighted the multifaceted responsibilities of his office, which encompass rescue operations, humanitarian services, and more.
