In Ago-Palace Way, Lagos State, a motorist hit a keke napep while attempting to elude arrest by a LASTMA official, killing five people, including a bystander.
On his X account, a user named @eonsintelligenc posted a video of a man being carried by a crowd with blood all over his head.
According to the X user, there had been an accident at the Ago-Palace Way in Lagos State where a LASTMA official was reportedly dragging the steering wheel of a vehicle with the driver that caused a fatal accident, killing five people.
Parallel Facts gathered that the vehicle, a Toyota Sienna, had run into a tricycle, killing a pregnant woman and her two children. The driver of the tricycle was also killed, along with a bystander.
The driver was accused of breaking traffic laws that led to the officials contesting the wheel with him in order to have him halt the vehicle. During this process, the car skidded and collided with a tricycle on Bayo Oyewale Street.
According to reports, the pregnant woman was taking her kids to school when the accident happened. An angry mob surrounded the LASTMA official after the incident, which led to a demonstration.
However, the official was spared from being lynched thanks to the quick action of a group of police officers, who used tear gas canisters to disperse the throng. While escorting the LASTMA official away, the policeman also removed the demonstrators’ roadside barricade.
