Liverpool manager Arne Slot has stated that no one should feel sorry for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, despite his team’s current struggles.
Slot made the remarks after Liverpool defeated the Premier League champions 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday.
The loss marked City’s fourth consecutive Premier League defeat at Anfield and extended their winless run in the league to seven games. This is the club’s worst losing streak in the competition since August 2008.
Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah secured the victory for Liverpool, pushing them 11 points clear of fifth-placed City on the league table.
Reflecting on City’s situation, Slot said: “That’s why the league is not decided in November. Last season they were eight points behind Arsenal, I think in February. No one has to feel sorry for Pep, maybe for other managers but not for Pep.
“He’s won so many things and he will be able to bring City back,” he added.
