Zamfara State Hisbah Commission, on Wednesday, conducted a mass wedding ceremony for 100 couples in the State.
Governor Dauda Lawal represented the grooms as their guardian, while the Emir of Zamfara, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad, served as the father and guardian of the brides.

The Governor noted that the event was part of broader efforts by his administration to promote comfort and support for all citizens.
Governor Lawal covered the dowry for each bride, amounting to ₦100,000, and provided an additional ₦50,000 for wedding expenses. The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jamilu Jibo, also contributed ₦20,000 to each bride.
In his address, the Commander of the Hisbah Commission stressed the significance of harmony in marriage and noted that medical tests were conducted prior to the ceremony to ensure all participants were in good health.
The Hisbah leader cautioned the couples that no husband should make decisions that could jeopardize the marriage without consulting the Hisbah Commission.
