African Governments Should Ban Kemi Badenoch from Visiting Africa – Seun Kuti

Seun Kuti, an afrobeat musician, has urged African governments to prohibit Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, from visiting the continent in response to her controversial comments regarding Nigeria.

Badenoch has reportedly described her upbringing in Nigeria as characterized by fear and insecurity, and has identified corruption as a pervasive issue in the country.

Her comments have garnered criticism from a variety of sources, including Kashim Shettima, who accused her of degrading Nigeria. Despite the backlash, Badenoch has maintained her stance.

In response, Kuti, during a recent Instagram live session, urged African nations to bar Badenoch from entering the continent.

He said, “Many have been praising this woman [Kemi Badenoch]; someone who has been insulting us, not only us but our ancestors. She said we should pay Europeans for colonialism.

“She’s saying we should pay them for killing millions of our ancestors; for all the atrocities that they committed in our lands.

“She’s someone who should be banned by African governments from stepping into Africa. Once she steps into Africa, she should be jailed.”
