Gunmen have reportedly killed Tasi’u Abdullahi, a 10-year-old boy, in the Rikkos community of Jos North LGA, Plateau State, after collecting a ₦150,000 ransom as part payment.
Aliyu Muhammad, uncle to the deceased, told journalists on Tuesday that the boy was abducted on December 16 in front of his house after being lured by unknown persons.
Muhammad said the kidnappers contacted the family five days later, demanding N50,000 for the boy’s feeding and N1 million as ransom.
After negotiations, the family agreed to pay N300,000, and an initial N150,000 was transferred to the abductors.
The kidnappers reportedly killed Abdullahi despite receiving the partial payment.

“After paying N150,000 through a bank transfer, as instructed by the abductors, we were shocked to receive a call from a woman the following day, informing us that our child had been killed and abandoned near our house,” Muhammad said.
“Upon examining the body of the deceased, we observed that our son had been strangled, with blood coming out of his nose and mouth.”
However, two individuals have reportedly been arrested in connection with the crime.
