The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has declared a man wanted after he publicly called for an investigation into the CEO of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) over allegations of suspicious debit activities that left millions of customers stranded.
The man, who raised concerns about a month-long system failure that led to unauthorized debits, is now facing police charges for his efforts to hold the bank’s CEO accountable.
In tweet shared on X formerly Twitter it shows that the man call for an investigation, the man pointed fingers at GTB’s CEO, asserting that, as the head of the institution, the CEO should be held responsible for the technical glitch that affected numerous customers.
His remarks followed widespread public outcry over the bank’s handling of the issue, which saw accounts debited arbitrarily and left many Nigerians without access to their funds. Despite the grievances, no legal action was taken against GTB or its CEO.
Instead of addressing the concerns raised, the Nigeria Police targeted the man, declaring him wanted for his role in calling for an inquiry into the matter.
