Tinubu’s Govt Celebrates as UAE President Accepts Invitation to Visit Nigeria

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has accepted an invitation from Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu to visit Nigeria this year.

The invitation was extended during bilateral talks held on Wednesday night on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, where Tinubu represented Nigeria as a guest of the UAE President.

The discussions centered on strengthening economic cooperation between both nations, with Tinubu highlighting Nigeria’s recent economic reforms and their positive impact on stabilizing and growing the economy.

He urged the UAE to invest in Nigeria, emphasizing the renewed confidence of foreign investors, including billion-dollar commitments from international oil companies.

Sheikh Mohamed expressed the UAE’s readiness to enhance economic ties with Nigeria and thanked Tinubu for attending the event. The meeting also explored avenues to attract investments to Nigeria.

Tinubu commended the UAE leader for hosting a successful event and expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation, which included Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

The UAE President was accompanied by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; and H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
