Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over allegations of engaging in anti-party activities.
Governor Mohammed accused Wike of serving the interests of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and suggested that it would be more honorable for him to join the APC officially.
He also dismissed Wike’s alleged efforts to tarnish his image as desperate and ineffective, asserting that Nigerians are aware of the minister’s supposed agenda.
This follows Mohammed’s remarks on Thursday, where he referred to Wike as a “transactional politician” whose loyalty is driven by personal ambitions.
In response, Wike, through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, criticized Mohammed, accusing him of greed and blaming him for failing to provide effective leadership as chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

Olayinka urged the Bauchi governor to stop using Wike’s appointment by President Bola Tinubu as a scapegoat for his shortcomings.
However, in a counter-statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Mohammed, who also chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, described Wike’s remarks as reckless and deceptive.
He argued that Wike’s actions reflect his declining political relevance and accused him of a history of betrayal, citing prominent figures such as Senator John Azuta Mbata, Dr. Peter Odili, and Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi as alleged victims of Wike’s duplicity.
