Bayelsa Gov Poll: PDP Supporter Murdered at Brass by Suspected Thugs

A middle-aged man identified as Mr. George Sibo, a staunch supporter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), met a tragic end at the Brass Local Government Area Headquarters in Twon, Bayelsa.

The unfortunate incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon at the INEC office in Twon-Brass.

Sources revealed that the attack occurred at the Governorship Election Collation Centre during the submission of results for some wards in Constituency 2 in Bayelsa.

Sibo, also known as “Kobo-Kobo,” was reportedly assaulted by suspected thugs in a gruesome manner.

Speaking at the tragic event, Daniel Charles, the lawmaker representing Brass Constituency I, strongly condemned the murder, attributing it to desperate power seekers.

He called upon security agencies to promptly apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act. Charles expressed dismay at the fact that individuals aspiring to govern would resort to violence against their fellow citizens.

The late Mr. George Sibo was an indigene of Twon-Brass in Bayelsa state and served as an aide to the Brass Local Government Chairman, Hanson Alabo-Karika. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the community.

As the community grapples with the tragedy, the spokesman of the state police command, Asinim Butswat, stated, “I’m awaiting details from the Area Commander Brass,” highlighting the ongoing investigation into the incident.
