Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has criticized the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, for wasting billions of naira on frivolities while citizens are being ’empowered’ by the provision of a facility where they can pump their tyres for free.
In a post shared on his official X handle, Effiong attached a picture showing a banner offering pumping services for free.
He revealed that the governor is amassing wealth but the only thing he could do for his people was to provide a stand where people can pump their tyre. To make matters worse, the governor called such display a ‘Happy Hour’.
Effiong lamented how such a state blessed with so much resources could be cursed to have kleptomaniacs masquerading as leaders.
His post reads,”Madness in my motherland. I weep for Akwa Ibom State.
“The governor is amassing wealth and wasting billions on frivolities while the masses are ‘empowered’ with the facilities to pump their tyre for free in the name of Happy Hour.
“A State so blessed with resources, but cursed with kleptomaniacs masquerading as leaders.”
