Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has criticised former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, stating that he is not a democrat and should not be sympathized with over his recent grievances against Bola Tinubu’s government.
In a post on his X account, Effiong accused El-Rufai of intolerance during his tenure as governor, alleging that he persecuted critics, jailed opponents, and fueled religious tensions in Kaduna State through discriminatory policies.
Effiong wrote,” This same Nasir El-Rufai did not tolerate dissent during his reign as governor.
“He persecuted, hunted and jailed his critics ,opponents, and activists.
“He went overboard to create religious tensions in Kaduna State because of his discriminatory and fanatical policies and actions.
“El-Rufai is not a democrat.
“He can cry today against the government because he has been denied a seat at the table by incumbent oppressors.
“Do not fall for his gimmicks,” he added.
