The National Assembly has appointed 11 individuals, including family members of prominent politicians, as directors of the newly established North-West Development Commission.
Among the nominees are the daughter of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the current national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Kano State Governor, as well as the son of Senator Aliyu Wamakko, a former Governor of Sokoto State.

This was confirmed in a letter signed by Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Senator (Dr.) Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate. The letter, addressed to Bola Tinubu, was obtained by SaharaReporters on Thursday.
Asiya Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Ganduje’s daughter, has been nominated as the Director of Community & Rural Development, while Wamakko’s son has been selected to lead the Planning, Research, Statistics, and Management Information System Department.

Other nominees include Khalil Bako for Administration and Human Resources, Mustapha Ahmed Ibrahim for Environmental Protection and Control, Utilities Infrastructural Development, Sanusi Bala Turaki for Finance & Supply, and Muhammed Kabir Sani for Legal Services. Additional appointees are Malik Anas for Solid Minerals & Agriculture, Alhasan Sidi Suleiman for Commercial & Industrial Development, Ahmed Mohammed for Projects Monitoring and Supervision, and Garba Aminu for Youth & Women Affairs Development.
The letter, titled “Joint Proposal of the Speaker and the Deputy President of the Senate For Those To Serve As Directors Of Departments Of The North-West Development Commission,” states, “Below are the names jointly proposed to Your Excellency for approval as Directors of Departments of the North-West Development Commission.”
Expressing gratitude to Tinubu, the letter further reads, “On behalf of the good people of North-West Nigeria, we thank Your Excellency for the establishment of this Commission. May Allah reward Your Excellency for your consistent love for the people of the North-West zone. May Allah continue to guide and protect Your Excellency as you strive to lead our nation to prosperity.”#Ganduje
