The police has confirmed the arrest of Nigerian dancer Lil Smart over alleged cyber stalking and defamation the musician, Naira Marley.
This was made known in a post shared on the Instagram handle of the Nigeria’s top social media influencer, Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle, popularly known as Tunde Ednut.
According to the post shared by Ednut, Lil Smart falsely claimed he had been abducted, assaulted, and robbed of $300. He also alleged that Naira Marley had bribed all the police officers in Lagos and was involved in credit card fraud.
However, Lil Smart later admitted in writing that the claims were entirely baseless and unsupported by any evidence.
The post reads,”Arrest Made in Connection with Criminal Defamation and Cyberstalking.
“Following a petition filed by a law firm, operatives from the Nigeria Police Force’s National Cybercrime unit arrested Idowu Smart Emmanuel—a native of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State—on charges of criminal defamation, cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and spreading false information about Abdulazeez Adeshina Fashola (also known as Naira Marley).

“Investigations revealed that using his Instagram handle @lilsmart_, the suspect falsely claimed he had been abducted, assaulted, and robbed of $300. He also alleged that Naira Marley had bribed all the police officers in Lagos and was involved in credit card fraud.
“The suspect later admitted in writing that these claims were entirely baseless and unsupported by any evidence.
“On January 28, 2025, Idowu Smart Emmanuel was apprehended at his residence in Megamound Estate, Ajah, Lagos, and all exhibits related to the alleged crimes were recovered.”
