Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a 46-year-old health worker, Akinola Oyabiyi, in Eleyowo community, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was revealed that Oyabiyi was returning home from work when he was ambushed and shot dead around 8 p.m.
Reports indicate that the assailants shot him at close range as he attempted to escape after being stopped on the highway. The attackers fled the scene, leaving him to bleed to death.

Despite efforts to save him, he was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival due to excessive blood loss.

This tragic incident comes just two weeks after some farmers were killed in the same community. Additionally, three interns from the Federal School of Agriculture, Akure, were abducted in the area last Saturday.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the state police command, Funmi Odunlami, assured that detectives were working to apprehend the perpetrators.
