Former President Muhammadu Buhari has moved to his residence in Kaduna after spending nearly two years in Daura, Katsina State, amid rising bandit attacks in the region.
Buhari’s former aide, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed the relocation in a post on X on Thursday night. He stated that the former president had chosen a quiet life in his hometown after completing his tenure.
Buhari was accompanied to Kaduna by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, among other dignitaries.

His words, “Today, former President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his Kaduna residence after spending two years in Daura, Katsina State, since leaving office in May 2023.

“After completing his tenure, he opted for a quiet life in his hometown and largely stayed out of active political discussions, focusing on private engagements,” Ahmad added.
