The pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has cautioned against sacrificing Senate President Godswill Akpabio over unverified allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti.
In a statement issued on Monday by its Organising Secretary, Kole Omololu, Afenifere described Akpabio as a committed patriot and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the claims.
The group linked the allegations to disciplinary actions taken against Senator Akpoti and called for a Senate committee to examine the matter.
Afenifere also commended Akpabio’s leadership, stating that he has played a key role in ensuring political stability and fostering synergy between the executive and legislative arms of government.

“He has been most instrumental in engendering one of the few eras in the history of democratic governance in Nigeria where we have enjoyed executive/legislative synergy,” the group stated.
