The headquarters of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) in Lagos was stormed by armed military officers on Thursday morning, leading to the assault of staff and other individuals present.
It was learnt that the officers, dressed in military uniforms, arrived at the IKEDC office opposite MITV in Ikeja at about 7:40 a.m.
In a video clips released by Guardian on X, the military men were seen beating staff members during the incident.
While the reason for the invasion has not been officially confirmed by either IKEDC or the Nigerian Army, reports suggest that the incident may be linked to the recent disconnection of electricity supply to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) base in Lagos over alleged unpaid bills.
