The Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Sunny James, has said that the union will persist with its industrial action until the federal government meets the pressing concerns of workers.

Speaking to the gathered striking workforce outside the Idongesit Nkanga State Secretariat on Tuesday, Comrade James emphasized the commitment to the directive from the national body, enforcing an indefinite strike.

He affirmed that the strike would persist not only until tomorrow but potentially beyond, contingent on the response from the federal government to the longstanding demands of the workers.

According to him, “workers in the state will ensure total compliance with the national body directive for an indefinite strike until the Federal Government meets all demands of workers.
