The President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Prof. Benjamin Okaba, has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as a drowning man whose desperation and frustration are pushing him to insult everyone in Rivers State.
Speaking on the ongoing political crisis, Okaba accused Wike of being tormented by his own actions and losing grip on the state’s political structure.
He stated that Wike’s erratic behavior is a sign of desperation as he tries to hold on to power that is slipping away from him.
Okaba further alleged that Wike’s troubles began after he turned against the Ijaw people, who had once supported him.
According to him, Wike sent “thunder and fire” to the Ijaw people in the past, but they sent it back to him, and since then, he has not been the same.

“Look at his physique, does he look the same? The thunder is tormenting him as we speak,” Okaba declared.
He insisted that Wike’s recent attacks on Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Ijaw leadership were out of frustration and warned that the Ijaw nation would not be dragged into his crisis.
The INC leader also accused Wike of trying to destabilize Rivers State by creating unnecessary conflicts and disrespecting respected elders.
He criticized Wike’s remarks about the late Chief Alabo Paklak, saying that a man who does not respect elders is doomed to fail.
“Tinubu has a choice to make between Wike and the Ijaw nation,” Okaba said, warning that Wike’s desperation to hold on to power will ultimately lead to his downfall.
He assured that the Ijaw people will stand firm in supporting Governor Fubara, as he has committed no wrongdoing and remains a leader focused on peace and development.
