APC Govt Under Tinubu Has Done Well as Promised to Continue From Where Buhari Stopped – Peter Obi

Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticised the administration of Chief Bola Tinubu, stating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government has fulfilled its campaign promise to continue from where former President Muhammadu Buhari stopped.

Speaking during a visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, on Thursday, Obi noted that key economic indicators have worsened since Tinubu took office, highlighting the rise in the exchange rate and prices of essential commodities.

Obi stated, “The government of APC under the present regime has done very well because remember when the president was campaigning, he said he will continue from where Buhari stopped. And if you check it, Buhari stopped with the dollar at about N400, it’s now at about N1,600.

“Rice was about N30,000, its now at N100,000; beans was at N40,000 but its now at about N100,000 too.

“I can go on and on, everything has doubled and trippled; fuel was at about N200 now it’s at about N1,000.

“So you can say that the government has done very well as it promised,” Obi stressed.

Obi called for a collective effort to address the challenges facing the country, agreeing with Governor Mohammed on the need for unity to build a better future for Nigerians.

“And we must all know now, the governor has just said that we are coming together for the future and the better society our children will live in.

“It is not about ourselves again, we have wasted enough time in this country,” Obi added.
