Microsoft has hired Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, both former executives at OpenAI, to head a pioneering AI research team.
This announcement comes hot on the heels of their departure from OpenAI, marking a seismic shift in the landscape of artificial intelligence.
Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, disclosed this news on Monday, which has set the tech world abuzz.
The revelation followed closely on the heels of the confirmation that Altman would not be making a return to OpenAI, with Emmett Shear stepping into the breach as an interim replacement.
Intriguingly, Nadella hinted at a broader collaboration, stating that Altman and Brockman would be joining “together with colleagues”. This cryptic statement has ignited speculation about potential further departures from OpenAI.
