The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has warned against the unauthorized unpacking of cargo from the container along the port access road.

Nigerian Ports Authority Managing Director, Mohammed Bello Koko, delivered the cautionary message during his weekend visit to the Tin-Can Island Port, where he personally inspected designated container stripping yards in the vicinity.

Koko emphasized that truckers engaged in this illicit activity face the serious consequence of being delisted from the electronic call-up system platform, which is managed by the Trucks Transit Parks (TTP).

The Nigerian Ports Authority Managing Director made it clear that engaging in container stripping along the port access road is a direct violation of operational guidelines and will not be tolerated any longer.

In addition to addressing the issue of illegal container stripping, Koko also revealed that the Nigerian Ports Authority has introduced standardized operating procedures for barge operators.
