Enugu State Governor, Mr. Peter Mbah, sent a clear message as he inaugurated a 120 million-litre per day water scheme at the 9th-Mile Corner area.

He emphasized the scheme’s impact, expanding daily capacity from 70 to 150 million litres and constructing 96 water galleries across Enugu for widespread accessibility.

Addressing past skepticism, the Governor remarked, “When we communicated this promise, it triggered disbelief since Enugu State people have witnessed countless unsuccessful attempts to address the problem of water shortage.”

He assured residents that families connected to the pipeline network would now have water directly in their homes, while others could access it through strategically placed water galleries.

In a stern warning, Mbah urged, “Report anyone attempting to steal or vandalize water infrastructure so they could be brought to book.”

Governor Mbah also revealed plans for increased production, stating, “Production will escalate to 200 million litres per day at the 9th-Mile Corner water scheme in a few months.”

Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr. Felix Nnamani, expressed gratitude, acknowledging Governor Mbah for fulfilling his 180-day promise to deliver water to Enugu residents.
