A police inspector, identified as Sa’idu Idiya, lost his life in a road accident that occurred on Koko-Jega Road in Kebbi State on Friday, November 25, 2023.
According to a statement issued by the police spokesperson, Nafi’u Abubakar, the accident involved a police Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number 5465D, which was carrying a team of policemen led by the Assistant Commissioner of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Suleiman Sade.
The statement said that the policemen were on their way to visit a crime scene at Kendawa village in Koko/Besse local government area when one of the rear tires of the vehicle burst near the NNPC area at Koko, causing the vehicle to somersault three times.
The statement added that a team of policemen from Koko Division rushed to the scene of the accident and evacuated the victims to General Hospital Koko for treatment, where Idiya was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
The corpse of the deceased inspector, along with the other injured policemen, was later transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, for further treatment.

The statement said that the police command commiserated with the family of the late inspector and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured policemen.
The statement also said that the police command would conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident and take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
The late inspector was buried according to Islamic rites. #Kebbi
