Olanipekun

Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s lead counsel in the last presidential election tribunal, Chief Wole Olanipekun, has said most Nigerians are living in abject poverty and insecurity.

Olanipekun, who made the remarks at his hometown of Ikere-Ekiti, said that the poverty level in the country was “not just scary but also terrifying” and that over 70 percent of the population was below the poverty line.

He said that many Nigerians lacked basic necessities and opportunities and were struggling to survive.

He also expressed concern over the insecurity situation in the country, which has been ravaged by various forms of violence and unrest for over a decade.

He said that the insecurity had created a lot of tension, anxiety, pressure, confusion, hatred, anguish, pain, distress and transferred aggression among the people.

He called on the government and the citizens to work together to find lasting solutions to the problems facing the nation and to restore peace, stability, and prosperity.

He said that Nigeria had the potential to be a great country, but it needed to overcome its challenges and harness its resources for the benefit of all.
