Alex Otti Commends Progress on Enugu-Portharcourt Expressway Reconstruction

In a recent inspection tour, Governor Alex Otti lauded the swift and commendable progress of palliative work on the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway, a crucial economic lifeline between Abia and Rivers State.

Accompanied by key members of the State Executive Council, including Commissioner for Works, Engr. Otumchere Oti, Governor Otti commenced the tour at the state boundary with Rivers State at the Imo River, progressing through Alaoji, and concluding at the entrance of the Ariaria International Market.

Governor Otti expressed satisfaction, stating, “I am pleased with the speed and quality of the work observed.”

He acknowledged the Federal Government’s instrumental role in the timely approval that facilitated the return of contractors to the site. Gratitude was also extended to the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, for his unwavering commitment to addressing the prolonged neglect affecting the road.

Highlighting the expressway’s economic significance, Governor Otti emphasized, “The Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt expressway is a vital economic route, and we are dedicated to overseeing its timely completion and adherence to the highest standards of quality.”
