More than 120 villagers are believed to have lost their lives in a community located in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State during a Maulud celebration at Tudun Biri, where a bomb was reportedly dropped by a Nigerian Air Force jet, as reported by Daily Trust.
The incident details are still unclear, and preliminary reports suggest that approximately 30 individuals lost their lives around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
According to an X user, @Mallam_Jabeer, who claimed to have visited the site of the bombing, expressed sorrow over the loss of innocent lives.
“What a useless country! Yesterday night, over 120 innocent villagers were mistakenly bombed at Tabarau village, close to the Nigerian air force here in Kaduna. According to the villagers, they were doing maulid when the incident occurred. No one is talking about it; everywhere is quiet. Why?”
Also, A former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, had on Monday morning shared a post on his X handle indicating the incident occurred.
According to Sani, “The translation of the post reveals that scores of people were killed yesterday by Ariel bombardment during a religious festival in a village near Kaduna Airport.Clarification is needed, CC, @NigAirForce, @DefenceInfoNG.”

However, residents who spoke said the bomb struck while the villagers gathered to commemorate Maulud.
“They were celebrating Maulud (birth of Prophet Muhammad) when the jet dropped the bomb, resulting in the immediate death of more than 30 people,” a resident said.
Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner of the State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, refrained from disclosing casualty figures.
He mentioned that the government plans to address the media in a press conference at the Government House.
“We will address the press at Government House on the situation because there would be a security meeting later. So, let’s meet by 10 a.m.,” he said.
As of the time of filing this report, NAF has not issued any statements regarding the incident.
