Former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani has expressed strong condemnation for the military airstrike that claimed lives in Tudun Biri village, Kaduna State, stating that these bombs should be dropped on terrorists and not civilians.
The Nigerian Army confirmed its responsibility for the Sunday airstrike, which occurred as villagers were marking the Maulud celebration in honor of Prophet Muhammad.
Sani strongly condemned the attack via his X platform saying, ”A call to the Kaduna village where bombs were dropped on religious worshippers reported that over 150 people were killed. A tragic, horrific and condemnable act. These bombs should be dropped on terrorists and not civilians.”
The Kaduna State government, acknowledging the incident, clarified that the Army was on a routine mission against terrorists but inadvertently affected members of the community.

In response, the government has initiated an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the airstrike.
To address the aftermath, the Kaduna State government has ordered the immediate evacuation of the injured to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for emergency medical attention.
