Unauthorized individuals have obstructed petroleum tankers’ access to crucial depots and loading facilities in Lagos State, leaving scores of vehicles stranded in the Ijora and Apapa areas.

Reports indicate that the blockade is a result of a group of hoodlums, some clad in uniforms, enforcing a court order on the access road.

Investigations by Leadership revealed an ongoing feud between prominent Lagos families as the root cause of this disruption.

Depot operators are now urgently seeking resolution, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution to ensure the free flow and distribution of petroleum products, especially in the lead-up to the festive season in December.

Depot insiders disclosed that a faction of the Cardoso family has allegedly engaged the services of hoodlums, purportedly directed by Bolaji Ayorinde, their legal representative, to prevent trucks from entering depots for product loading.

The hired individuals, some uniformed and others not, have caused a significant disturbance in the petroleum supply chain.

Depot operators have reported the issue to the state’s Attorney General, claiming that these actions are carried out under the instruction of Bolaji Ayorinde, the Cardoso family’s lawyer.

In light of the growing tensions, tanker drivers are appealing to the Depot and Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMA) to intervene and ensure the smooth operation of their services.

They are seeking assurances that their operations will not face further disruptions while legal appeals are heard regarding the disputed judgment that the Cardoso family’s lawyer is using to impede the distribution of petroleum products across the country.

The industry is anxiously awaiting a resolution to this conflict to prevent any adverse impact on the Yuletide season. #Tanker Drivers
