Utabo Helen, a popular police officer from Edo State, known for her viral “help me” video, is calling on Nigerians for assistance following an accident that has left her incapacitated.
The distressing news was revealed in an online video by Nigerian comedian ‘I go save’. He explained that Mrs. Helen, who was controlling traffic, was hit by a vehicle, resulting in a broken leg. Despite being taken to four different hospitals, she was turned away due to her inability to provide the requested sum of N1.5 million for treatment.
Unable to afford the medical fees, Mrs. Helen has remained at home, undergoing native treatment. The comedian was able to reach her through her daughter, who contacted him on social media.
Asserting that Mrs. Helen’s viral video had generated millions for skit users, musicians, and comedians, ‘I go save’ called on Nigerians and Edo indigenes to support the police officer so she can receive proper treatment for her broken leg. He pledged to contribute 500 thousand naira towards her treatment.

The comedian also appealed to the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, to support Mrs. Helen. He urged Bola Tinubu to address this issue and implement an adequate health plan for the police force to ensure officers are insured in times like this.
Furthermore, ‘I go save’ called on musician Asake, who used Mrs. Helen’s voice in his song, to assist her in this challenging time. The plea for help underscores the urgent need for better support and insurance for police officers in Nigeria.
