Man Takes His Own Life After Losing N2.5 Million to Betting

Tragedy struck on Tuesday as Onoh Chukwuma, a Facebook user, allegedly ended his life by ingesting insecticide, reportedly unable to cope with the shame and pressure from losing N2.5 million in betting.

Onoh’s distress became apparent when he posted a farewell message on his Facebook wall, stating that it was his last day on earth and expressing gratitude to specific individuals. Little did his readers know that he had already consumed the fatal substance.

He stated, “Today is my last day on earth! I’m going to meet my maker. Thank you Chima Anyaso, Ikukuoma Abia, Kelvin Jombo Onumah, Ekwueme Ohafia, and my friends. My spirit is with you all.”

Upon learning of Onoh’s situation, concerned friends rushed him to Madonna Hospital, Umuahia. Despite the medical professionals’ efforts to resuscitate him, he did not survive the ordeal.

It was revealed that Onoh had purportedly lost N2.5 million in a betting venture, and the shame and pressure from those he borrowed money from became unbearable.

A friend, sharing the news of his demise, expressed heartbreak, recounting the futile attempts by medical professionals to revive him.

One Facebook user questioned the deceased’s decision, highlighting that Onoh had N1 million and borrowed an additional N1.5 million to play a bet that ultimately failed, leading to his tragic end due to the burden of debt.

Friends and acquaintances expressed their grief on Onoh’s Facebook page, sharing condolences and lamenting the untimely loss.
