Ebonyi

Former Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Odefa Obasi Odefa has officially announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has joined the ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This move was not made alone, as approximately 500 supporters from the Onicha East Constituency have also made the transition alongside with him.

The formal declaration took place at the Ebonyi State Government House in Abakaliki, where Odefa paid a visit to the incumbent Governor, Ogbonnaya Nwifuru.

During the visit, Odefa expressed his support for the governor’s vision for the state, citing his “good intentions” as outlined in his manifesto as the driving force behind his decision to align with the APC.

Governor Nwifuru warmly welcomed the new members to the party, emphasising that the APC’s doors remain open to all individuals who have the state’s best interests at heart.

He reassured the newcomers of equal opportunities within the party and called upon them to collaborate in the ongoing efforts to further the development of Ebonyi.

The governor’s invitation to work together reflects a commitment to inclusivity and progress within the APC’s framework.
