The Commissioner for Special Projects in Rivers, Chief Emeka Woke has submitted his resignation from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet.
This move follows closely on the heels of Attorney General Zachaus Adango’s departure, who cited personal reasons for stepping down.
While Adango’s reasons were publicly disclosed, Woke’s resignation letter remains confidential, and hasn’t been publicly dissiminated.

The Nigerian Tribune reports that the details of Woke’s decision have not been released to the public.
This situation comes amidst a bitter political rift between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. The fallout has already led to a significant defection of 27 lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sources close to the matter suggest that Woke’s resignation may be a strategic move expressing loyalty to Wike, with whom he has a history of service.
