The National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani, is facing mounting pressure to resign from his position following allegations of forgery and perjury.
A prominent advocacy group, the Guardian of Democracy and Development Initiative, has not only called for Sani’s immediate resignation but has also urged for his suspension and prosecution.
The demand comes in the wake of serious accusations made by House of Representatives candidate for Nasarawa Constituency, Kano State, Musa Mohammed Ali.
Ali, who contested in the 2023 general elections, alleges that Sani and the National Secretary, Victor Fingesi, orchestrated the submission of a forged death certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The letter, which Ali claims was attached to the falsified document, informed INEC of his supposed demise, prompting a replacement candidate.
During a press conference convened by the Guardian of Democracy and Development Initiative, Comrade Danesi Momoh Prince, the group’s convener, presented the demands for legal action against the ADP Chairman.
Ali and another candidate, Nafiu Haruna, both victims of the alleged forgery, were present during the conference.

Ali, hailing from Nassarawa Local Government Area in Kano State, asserts his legitimacy as the ADP’s House of Representatives candidate for Nassarawa Federal Constituency.
The group revealed that Sani and others purportedly forged a death certificate (No.922227), supported by an affidavit issued on October 28, 2022, at Mai Kuluo registration centre in Nassarawa LGA, Kano State.
The scandal deepens as the Guardian of Democracy and Development Initiative denounces Sani’s actions as criminal, diabolic, and selfish, insisting that he deserves incarceration in a maximum-security prison.
The allegedly falsified death certificate, claiming Ali’s demise at home in Kano, is now being labeled as a sham by the group.
