In a harrowing vehicle incident that unfolded around 11:15 am on Saturday, four individuals sustained injuries when a truck hauling a 40-foot container rammed into the Asaba Motor Park, situated near Oguta Road, by Upper Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Eyewitnesses on the scene recounted that the truck driver, en route to the River Niger Bridge, grappled with a sudden brake failure.

Desperately attempting to regain control, the driver steered the malfunctioning vehicle off course, resulting in a devastating collision with the motor park.

The impact of the crash was widespread, as the truck plowed into more than 10 vehicles, including a Toyota Sienna, commercial buses, and tricycles, before ultimately slamming into the motor park’s wall.

Miraculously, there were no reported fatalities, averting what could have been a catastrophic event given the significant number of people present at the park, eagerly awaiting transportation.

The aftermath of the collision led to a chaotic scene, with the wreckage of the vehicles obstructing the typically busy Oguta Road.

This resulted in a severe traffic jam as other motorists navigated cautiously through the limited accessible portion of the road.

Authorities are currently on-site managing the situation, and investigations into the cause of the brake failure are underway.
