In a recent discussion on the move for a new Nigeria, 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi expressed concerns over the priorities of Bola Tinubu-led administration, emphasising the need for a demand-driven approach.
He highlighted the disparity in the cost of services and food items, stressing the need to address challenges faced by Nigerians following their stagnant salaries.
Speaking during X Space hosted by Parallel Facts on Sunday, Obi emphasised the importance of directing financial resources towards initiatives that foster economic growth and improve the standard of living for the populace.
Obi referred to World Bank reports, revealing a significant increase in the number of people living in poverty during the current administration.
“The data indicated a rise from 70 million in 2009 to a staggering 104 million under the present government,” he asserted.
