Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has cautioned against the misuse of his office for the issuance of fraudulent appointments.
This warning was conveyed in a statement released on Sunday by Segun Imohiosen, the head of information at the SGF’s office in Abuja. The cautionary note was prompted by the emergence of fraudulent appointments from the SGF’s office, orchestrated by dishonest individuals aiming to deceive the public.
Mr. Akume dismissed the misleading information being disseminated through various channels such as social media, emails, and text messages, which entice the public to pay a fee and submit their CVs to a non-existent department in his office.
He stated, “The fraudster has been impersonating Willie Bassey, the former Director of Information, and using these deceptive contacts; Aliyu Isah; +234 9168487156, +234 8035557865 and email; draliyu95@gmail.com, among others, to scam innocent Nigerians.”

He added that any official inquiries or clarifications should be directed through the official communication channels of the OSGF at www.osgf.gov.ng and info@osgf.gov.ng.
In conclusion, the SGF sternly warns those involved in such fraudulent activities to immediately cease exploiting his office to deceive unsuspecting members of the public, or they will face severe legal consequences. (NAN)
