Anthony Joshua Beats Otto Wallin, Gets Third Straight Win

In a stunning display of prowess, Anthony Joshua secured his third victory of 2023 with a Technical Knockout (TKO) over Otto Wallin.

The highly anticipated bout unfolded as the main event of the “Day of Reckoning” card held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Having already claimed triumphs over Jermaine Franklin in April and Robert Helenius with a seventh-round knockout in August, Joshua continued his winning streak with a commanding fifth-round TKO against Wallin.

Despite Wallin’s reputation as a formidable opponent, particularly with his southpaw stance, Joshua dominated the ring.

Wallin’s sole defeat prior to facing Joshua occurred in 2019 against Tyson Fury, positioned between Fury’s first and second encounters with Wilder.

Although Fury emerged victorious by unanimous decision, Wallin’s resilient performance presented a formidable challenge to the lineal champ.

With this latest victory, Joshua now boasts an impressive record of 27 wins and three losses, including an outstanding 24 knockout victories.

The fight concluded when Wallin’s coach, Joey Garnache, decided to halt the proceedings to spare his fighter from further punishment.

In a moment of triumph, Joshua conveyed his resurgence to former rival Andy Ruiz, stating, “I’m back, I’m back.” Post-fight, Joshua expressed his ambitions, revealing his desire to achieve the remarkable feat of becoming a three-time world heavyweight boxing champion.

“One step at a time, every fight leads to the final destination. Keep on praying, working hard. I’m on a journey, stay focused, let’s see how far I can take it.

“I respect Otto, I know what he brings to the table, not a throwback, no, another day at the office,” he said.

In a previous clash, Joseph Parker triumphed over Deontay Wilder, a former world heavyweight champion.

Parker demonstrated superiority over his adversary, ultimately clinching a unanimous decision victory.

Parker’s absolute dominance in the non-title bout was unmistakable, with all three judges unanimously awarding the victory to the New Zealander.

The final scores were 118-111, 118-110, and 120-108.

“Despite everyone having different plans, this victory feels like part of God’s plan,” Parker remarked following his win.
