The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has taken action against Carizma Hotel in the Abule Egba region of the state, resulting in its closure.
This decision was communicated via LASEPA’s official X handle, citing the hotel’s repeated failure to adhere to the prescribed noise levels despite numerous warnings and agreements made in prior meetings with the agency.
It’s worth noting that LASEPA, in collaboration with the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC), had previously closed down Quilox Nightclub on Sunday due to breaches of environmental and safety regulations. Following the closure of Carizma Hotel, the agency reiterated its commitment to combating noise pollution and other environmental violations in the state.
The agency stated, “In furtherance of its campaign against noise pollution and other environmental infractions, LASEPA today sealed Carizma Hotel and Luxury Suites located at Abule Egba area of the State. Despite receiving multiple warnings and agreeing to guidelines in previous meetings with the agency, the hotel failed to comply with stipulated noise levels.”

It further explained that the decision to seal the hotel was implemented on the 27th of December, 2023, after the hotel breached the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding signed during earlier meetings. These terms included commitments to end noisy activities by 10 pm and to comply with approved noise levels.
