Carlo Ancelotti has signed a deal to stay at Real Madrid until 2026, putting an end to rumors of a potential shift to lead the Brazilian national team.
The Italian tactician, who rejoined Los Blancos in 2021 after a successful stint from 2013 to 2015, solidifies his allegiance to the La Liga giants. Real Madrid declared in a statement, “Real Madrid CF and Carlo have agreed to extend our coach’s contract until 30 June 2026.”
He’s contract, initially set to conclude in 2024, fueled speculation about his ties with Brazil. Earlier this year, the then-president of the Brazilian football federation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, had singled out Ancelotti as the prime candidate for the national-team coach role.

With an illustrious track record, Ancelotti boasts a record for the most Champions League titles won as a coach. This includes two triumphs with AC Milan in 2003 and 2007, and two with Real Madrid. His recent managerial feat made history, clinching league titles in all of Europe’s ‘Big Five’ competitions when Real seized La Liga in 2022.
