In a message titled “Emmanuel, Jesus the Healer,” Pastor Williams Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, has called upon Christians to redirect their support towards the impoverished.
With a plea, He challenged his congregation to extend their generosity beyond the church walls.
“I learnt of a preacher somewhere,” Kumuyi began, “all the money they wanted to give to the church, they should go and give to the poor in their neighbourhood rather than bringing it to the church.” He urged those with financial means to consider the plight of their less fortunate neighbors.

The preacher emphasized, “All the offerings are not just for the church. There are poor and unemployed people around. Your fellow brother, your fellow sister have nothing to send children to school.” He acknowledged the necessity of building projects but underscored the urgency of addressing immediate needs within communities.
