Nigeria More Secured Since I Took Over, Tinubu Declares Despite Plateau Massacre

Tinubu

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that Nigeria’s security situation has seen improvement since he assumed office on May 29, 2023.

Despite the recent tragic massacre of over 200 people in Plateau State, Tinubu maintained that his administration has been working silently to address the security challenges plaguing the nation.

He made this revelation during his New Year broadcast on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Over the past seven months of Tinubu’s administration, the country has experienced numerous cases of abductions and killings.

Acknowledging the ongoing security issues, Tinubu expressed confidence that his government’s efforts have led to the release of captives from abductors.

He emphasized that, while all security problems may not be fully resolved, the administration is diligently working to ensure peace of mind for Nigerians in their homes, workplaces, and on the roads.

He articulated, “Since our administration took over the mantle of office, security has improved. Silently, we have worked to free captives from abductors.

“While we can’t beat our chest yet that we had solved all the security problems, we are working hard to ensure that we all have peace of mind in our homes, places of work and on the roads,” he added.

Tinubu’s remarks come in the wake of a recent incident where armed men brutally slaughtered over 100 people in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
