‘Suspend Chicago State University Too’ – Atiku Tells FG After Benin, Togo Cert Revocation

Atiku Abubakar’s camp, representing the presidential candidacy of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, has criticized the federal government’s decision to suspend the evaluation and accreditation of degree certificates from Benin Republic and Togo.

They describe this move as “deceptive” and argue that it overlooks a more significant issue. Abdul Rasheeth, spokesperson for Atiku, expressed these sentiments on social media in response to the announcement of the suspension on Tuesday, January 2nd, accusing the government of hypocrisy and selective actions.

“Universities in Benin and Togo are not the only ones culpable in certificate racketeering,” Rasheeth wrote. “Suspending their accreditation is nothing but deception! This isn’t the first time FG is doing that!”

He cited Chicago State University (CSU) and its associates as a notable instance of institutions purportedly engaged in “unscrupulous means and morally objectionable methods” when conferring degrees.
