Matchroom and Queensberry confirmed on Friday night that Anthony Joshua is set to go toe-to-toe with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.
The date for this blockbuster bout is yet to be finalized, but a press conference is scheduled for January 15 in London.
After securing a decisive five-round victory over Otto Wallin on December 23, Joshua initially lined up a showdown with Deontay Wilder. However, Wilder’s loss to Joseph Parker on the same card altered the course of events.
Ngannou, renowned for his striking prowess in mixed martial arts, made a bold entrance into professional boxing last October by knocking down Tyson Fury.

Although Fury ultimately clinched a split decision victory, Ngannou’s performance catapulted him into the WBC’s top 10 heavyweight contenders.
Joshua, undeterred and eager for challenges, expressed his willingness to face anyone, anytime.
“I’m down to fight anyone. Whenever and whoever,” Joshua disclosed.
