In a show of gratitude and commitment to his constituents, Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye, the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial Zone, Anambra State, celebrated a Thanksgiving Service and Empowerment Day in Onitsha.
Joining the event was Mr. Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour party.
Obi commended Senator Nwoye for recognizing the divine aspect of leadership, stating, “Only God can raise a true king, and no one must abuse God’s grace upon their lives.” Expressing admiration for the senator’s decision to celebrate with the people, Obi emphasized the need for leaders to prioritize the ultimate benefit of their constituents.
“I urge him to continue to invest in critical projects that will leave lasting benefits, especially in education, health, and poverty eradication,” Obi remarked, highlighting the significance of such investments for societal development. The former governor was particularly impressed with the extensive empowerment program targeting the less privileged.
Obi concluded with a prayer for Senator Nwoye, invoking divine wisdom, strength, boldness, and courage to navigate the challenges of leadership. As both leaders aim to build a “New Nigeria,” Obi emphasized the importance of doing the right things for the collective dream. “Together, by doing the right things, we will build the New Nigeria of our dreams. It is Possible,” Obi affirmed.
